IN SIX HOUR TEST — Apollo 12 astronaut Capt. Charles “Pete” Conrad, Jr., is among the latest to be entered for the Six Hours of Endurance-Glen-Can-Am 200 weekend at Watkins Glen this Saturday and Sunday, July 24-25. Conrad, who has reaced in the Central Florida region and who has also competed at Daytona, Florida, will be at the wheel of one of three popsicle-green Porsche 914-6s entered by Ralph Meaney of Sherborn, Mass. for Saturday’s Six Hours beginning at noon, The race, the final event counting for the 1971 World Championship of Manufacturers, will help kick off the Glen’s 24th season as the home of road racing in America. The Six Hours will be followed less than 24 hours later with Sunday’s 2 p.m. Glen Can-Am, fourth round of the Canadian-American Challenge Cup Series, the only race of its type in Northeastern america this season.
